The future of CBC testing has finally arrived in Canada!!

Inter Medico is thrilled to announce the Health Canada Class III medical device approval of the Pixcell HemoScreen™ 5-part differential Point-of-Care analyzer.

HemoScreen™ harnesses PixCell Medical’s AI-assisted Viscoelastic Focusing (VEF) technology to perform lab-grade analysis at the Point-of-Care on a drop of blood, as it passes through a unique lab-on-a-cartridge. It is extremely simple to operate, requires no maintenance or calibration, and is fully portable.

HemoScreen™ measures 20 standard CBC parameters, including a 5-part differential, with the accuracy and precision of the most advanced central lab analyzers. HemoScreen™ is Health Canada approved for both venous and capillary draw and for adults and children at least 2 months of age.

The test is exceptionally effortless to perform and takes less than 5 minutes. It includes 3 simple steps:

HemoScreen™ uses a patented technique called viscoelastic focusing, which causes the cells to perfectly align into a single plane. High resolution microscopic images are taken of the flowing cells. Each image is then analyzed using machine vision and AI algorithms, and the various cell types are differentiated and counted. WBCs are stained prior to analysis to enable differentiation between their sub-types and abnormal cells. HGB is calculated based on the optical density measured on individual, intact cells.

The HemoScreen™ analyzer is factory calibrated. No further calibration is required.

Now available in Canada, the HemoScreen™ provides a state-of-the-art technology for informed decision-making with the use of a simple capillary or venous blood draw.
