A new commercial partnership between Inter Medico and Qiagen
Inter Medico is thrilled to announce our new commercial partnership with world-renowned biotechnology company, as the exclusive distributor of two of their In Vitro Diagnostic product lines in Canada.
Inter Medico will be handling the distribution of the QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus test in Canada for Latent Tuberculosis testing. This ‘one-and-done’ blood test is far superior in both application and accuracy to the outdated skin test, with no need for a second patient visit to read subjective results.
In addition, we are excited to introduce QIAGEN’s QIAstat-Dx rapid syndromic testing platform for infectious disease to the Canadian market. With a mix of 22 distinct viral and bacterial targets, the QIAstat-Dx’s respiratory panel allows for diagnosis of patients with flu-like symptoms in about 1 hour, so that patients can quickly receive the best treatment for the pathogen causing their symptoms. Additional panels will be available in Canada in the coming months.
Both of these innovative products will improve the state of patient care and public health in Canada, and we are excited to continue our long-standing partnerships with Canadian microbiology labs and infection control professionals.
